Pauline Huang, Board Chair

Miss Pauline Huang, having lived in NY since 1988, graduated from Pace University with an MS CPA in Business in 1990. She is the co-founder of the United Customs Service as well as the Managing Director of United Cargo System, specializing in international logistics and customs consultation. Her company is heavily involved in transportation work with Amazon USA.

Miss Huang, believing strongly in the value of volunteer and charity work indicative of American society, began her community service and charitable endeavors in 2007. Giving and social responsibility are the motives for Miss Huang’s active role in multiple nonprofit organizations. Among her many commitments to this goal is her position as Chair of the Queens Botanical Garden, located in Flushing, New York, a place where the majority of the residents are immigrants from Taiwan and other Asian countries. The Board works very closely with 34 full-time staff of the garden to make this unique and beautiful NYC location an unparalleled gem that invites everyone to enjoy this magnificent splendor of nature. Miss Huang has been a board member since 2013 and its Chair since 2016, and is both proud and humbled to be the first female Chairperson from the Taiwanese community in the Garden’s 50 years. Under her leadership and involvement on the board, she initiated the annual Taiwan World of the Orchids Exhibition which began in 2014. This program has become the premier exhibit for the Garden and a signature tourist event in the Queens Borough drawing visitors from all over the world. The Taiwan Orchids Exhibition also collaborates with the North American Taiwanese Woman’s Association to enhance the garden’s relationship with many educational and artistic organizations.

Exemplifying Miss Huang’s future commitment to the community is her membership in the Queens Economic Development Corporation and NYC Chinese Business Association. In February of 2018, she co-founded MuseConnect, a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit music organization which provides a platform and forum for classical musicians to build a bridge beyond the boundaries of Eastern and Western cultural traditions through various genres of musical artistry. Miss Huang has taken a very special interest in promoting this excellent organization for the purpose of encouraging young people to be involved in music, especially in classical music, and to appreciate musical genres and cultures. She has accepted the responsibility to chair this group for this reason and will encourage many others to join her on making MuseConnect the flagship in a new era of musical endeavor. She will continue her commitment to the community and render her contributions to where needs her leadership and help for more group.
